Manila is located in the Philippines, an archipelago which has 7107 islands, of which only 200 are inhabited. Manila is capital of the Philippines, and it is situated on the island of Luzon.
Manila is located east of Manila Bay, and along with fifteen other cities, it make up what we know as Metro Manila.
The city is divided into sixteen areas; Binondo, Ermita, Intramuros, Malate, Paco, Pandacan, Port Area, Quiapo, Sampaloc, San Andres, San Miguel, San Nicolas, Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, Santa Mesa and Tondo. It is also separated into six legislative districts: District One, District Two, District Three, District Four, District Five and District Six. This districts provide representations of Manila City in the Philippine House of Representatives. In perspective to the world, the Philippines (and Manila) is located in the south-east of Asia. To the south-east is Australia. as well as Australia, some of the Philippines's neighbours include Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. |
